Description
Gainsborough Farm is a state of the art facility, which can be likened to a small town. It has its own water supply and purification system, its own fiber optic communications system, its own Doppler Weather Monitoring Equipment, its own x-ray developing room, a fully equipped lab and an army of specialists ranging from vet techs to stone masons.
One of the hexagonal stallion barns houses the farm's current three resident stallions with a second equally sized barn in waiting for future occupants. The breeding shed with its full lab and viewing station is located between the two barns. Open doors allow a view from the waterfall just outside of the first barn, through the breeding shed and out the second barn to the 15 acre lake beyond complete with fountains and swans.
The broodmare barn is climate controlled with heat or air conditioning available as needed. A full lab with glass front sits in a high spot at the entrance and has a full view of several oversized foaling stalls. The lab is equipped to do everything from routine blood work to x-ray development. A special stall with hoist is ready should a severe distocia occur. The barn contains a closed wash stall so Mom and baby can be safely bathed. Each mare is groomed daily. Each foal is handled extensively from birth.
