Founded
GJ-WebDev was founded back in 2010 and was operating under the name GJ-Webdesign and had just one employee operating. More and more customers were requesting projects, so it was not just webdesigning, but also programming. In 2011 it was forced to change it's name because of a copyright issue.
GJ-WebDev
Because of the growing amount of services and employees, they've chosen for GJ-WebDev. WebDev is an abbreviation of WebDevelopment which was their main service in 2011.
Hosting
With a big amount of webapplications running, it was hard to find a good hosting-partner, so they decided to buy some servers for their own. This was much cheaper and were able to offer services for lower prices.
In 2012 they expanded their server capacity by installing server not only in Europe, but also in California (USA). They are operating from 2 locations: The Netherlands (Europe) and California (USA). With this big server capacity it was not difficult to offer a new service, 'VPS hosting'.
VPS hosting
VPS hosting means that you can rent a server for a specific time, and do with it what you want. As long as it is within the terms of agreement. These VPS-servers are running in Europe, but you can request a virtual bridge to get higher speeds in other continents.
2013
In 2013 they replaced all their old server with high-tech servers for higher speeds, especially intern. This allows you to make more back-ups without claiming to much power from your server or website. Almost all websites are stored on Solid State Drives which supports speeds up to 500 MB/s.
Future
GJ-WebDev announced to open a new data-center in China (Asia) because of the growing amount of websites which are meant for Asian visitors. Some connections from Asia to Europe or the USA can take up to 10 seconds to establish and that's too long according to their spokesman.
