The seeds of a unique ministry were found in a pumpkin patch near Greensboro, NC, 31 years ago. This fall, the First United Methodist Church of Brooksville, 109 South Broad St., will join more than 1,300 other churches of at least 30 denominations and non profit organizations in 48 states in carrying out the Pumpkin Patch ministry which now raises about $3.6 million annually in funding for the participating groups.
