Description
The Friends of Fenway Studios was founded to help the artist/tenants deal with the escalating costs of the preservation and maintenance of this unique National Historic Landmark. The Friends is a nonprofit organization, and the directors receive no compensation for their donated time and expertise. The board is composed of three artists from the building, and a number of outstanding professionals and activists in the community.
The Board of Trustees of the Friends meets once a month at the Vose Galleries, which donates space for the meetings. The gallery serves as the headquarters and mailing address of the organization. The Friends of Fenway Studios was officially established on October 27, 1998 as a 501c as a nonprofit organization whose purpose is to raise and receive funds for the restoration and preservation of this building, and to raise public awareness of this cultural asset.
