Description
What is a Watershed? If you’re new to this effort locally, you are probably wondering what the definition of “watershed” is. Shouldn’t it be Mount Diablo? Or San Francisco Bay? Locally, the use of our major creeks is used to define watersheds within the County. It is hoped that residents will identify more with their local watershed as where they live. Tell your friends and neighbors they don’t live in Pacheco or Pleasant Hill, but in “Grayson Creek Watershed”! As the saying goes, “we all live down stream’”. (Or do we? – see “Detention Basin” – Pleasant Hill, below**)
Our membership needs to (a) have substantial number (at least 5) of Pacheco residents currently, to qualify for the above grant. All that is required is fairly good attendance at regular meetings: 1st & 3rd Saturdays in the Community Center Parking lot, 5800 Pacheco Blvd ( 8:30 am – yes! – if you need a ride, or a wake up call, please let us know! )
Other projects: “Design a creek” (restoration); Design a “Watershed Awareness” Mural Email or bring your sketches to a FOGC meetings (1st and 3rd Saturdays, 8:30 am, Pacheco Community Center) , or to any Pacheco Beautification meeting (1st Wednesdays, 5800 Pacheco Blvd) for any ideas you may have!
