- Steve Lawson worked in broadcasting, recording and related fields before he even graduated from the University of Washington in 1975. In 1969 at the age of 16, Lawson began his broadcasting career as a volunteer announcer at KRAB - a listener supported radio station in Seattle. In 1972, while attending the University of Washington, he moved over to KBES, an AM/FM broadcasting combination in Bellevue Washington. In 1973, he became the youngest on-air personality on KING AM, a top rated Top-40 radio station. In 1977, Lawson became production director of KING AM, leaving in 1979 to open his own company, Steve Lawson Productions.
