I would like to take the time to introduce myself as your new league President. I was born and raised in Fremont and have been involved with many youth organizations for more than 15 years, of which the last 3 have been with FBI. Here, I have held positions as team manager, division representative, board member and tournament director.
As many of you know the league recently celebrated its 50 th year of existence in 2004. We are the oldest youth baseball program in the local Bay Area. As the newly elected president, I have set some pretty lofty goals for the league in 2005. Those goals include continuously improving the league facilities, increasing player registration and increasing parent participation within the league.
During the 2003 off-season, I was also the project lead that designed and coordinated the installation of the turf infields at our home facility. This project had an original projected cost of $15,000, but was completed at a final cost of only $8,000. This project was accomplished by establishing relationships and receiving generous donations made by companies like Groeniger & Company, Tri-City Rock, Fruezen Backhoe, United Rentals and the hard work donated by only a handful of league members who gave up their time and energy to complete this project over one weekend. This is just one example of how the league is committed toward constantly trying to improve the facilities for you and your children.
