About this site:
The main goal of this website is to make an outlet for every candidate, for every office pertinent to Alachua County, to get his or her message out at no cost. A part of that goal is also to make the candidates accessible and accountable to the voters by posting the questions of Alachua County residents, and allowing the candidates to answer them. This site will eventually grow into a complete online voters' guide.
An equally important goal is to demystify the political process so that more citizens will participate, and will do so with greater knowledge. I hope this will encourage more people to run for public office so that we will be less a government of hired experts and more like a representative body that shares the common experience of our whole community.
This website is not the expression or tool of a political action committee, a non-profit organization, or any one political party. It is a privately owned publication, and it solicits sponsors. In the past, I have said that all incoming revenue would go toward the promotion of this site, and that no profit would be made. Well, no revenue ever came in, so it was easy to keep my pledge.
