Description
Stone sits at the heart of Steven Fraser’s idea of what is beautiful. Beauty, for him, begins with the most basic of elements.
His walls are wrought from an ancient tradition of building without mortar. Stone pulled from fields, river beds and mountain tops are trimmed and fitted to create a functional, beautiful structure that can transform any space.
Used to retain soil or to help define an area, when stone is put with stone each wall begins to live, and we’re reminded again that we are part of the great, ongoing life of this world. His sculpture, too, reminds us that there is life everywhere, even in the stones.
