1927 was a year of great memories for Vina Manquehue. During that time the Rabat family arrived from Spain and settled in Chile. Bringing with them a sound knowledge of wines, the family purchased the land for their first vineyard in a fertile valley located on the outskirts of Santiago, the capital of Chile. Vina Manquehue, located in a privileged zone with a stable climate and favourable soils, received the initial selected French vines especially brought to Chile by the Rabat family. These vines adapted rapidly to the region which is ideally suited for viticulture.
Vina Manquehue is an important Chilean vineyard oriented to exports, which owns extensive lands in the Colchagua Valley. The technology applied to the management and production of vineyards has evolved with the years. Today, the vineyard has a large and modern infra-structure that allows it to guarantee the quality of each wine.
One of the reasons for Manquehue's continued growth and success is due to their recognition that in today's world we must offer quality yet alternative and innovative wines. The "transitional" drinker can now discover and enjoy the refreshing and exquisite taste of quality sparkling wines with natural fruit pulp added. They have no chemical colours or flavours, only natural ingredients. And for those who wish to cross over from RTD's to a still wine, Vina Manquehue has created a new range called "Soul Wine". These are quality red or white wines with natural fruit juice added (strawberry, pineapple, cranberry, apple and sangria). Unlike similar products, they have no chemical flavours and colours. They are fruity and refreshing, low in alcohol content (6.5%) and are ideal for Summer bbq's and parties.
