Today, Canton is the center of many diversified industries and manufactures over 1600 different products. Canton is also known as the greatest steel-producing center in the world. It is also an important agricultural area, producing many nationally known brands of dairy and poultry. Stark County, Ohio is one of the largest and richest vegetable and produce-growing areas in the United States. The state of Ohio is rich in mineral resources, with large deposits of coal, shale, clay, limestone, and gravel. From football to museums to chocolate, Canton is the center of a number of attractions.

Historically, Canton is known as the home of President William McKinley, and travelers from all over visit the McKinley Memorial and Park. In addition to the history of Canton, there are a number of offbeat museums. The Vacuum Cleaner Museum, founded by the Hoover Company, is a unique tribute to the evolution of cleaning over the years. The First Ladies Museum is the only place in the nation dedicated to presidents' wives and their contribution to our nation. Of course, the Pro Football Hall of Fame needs no introduction. Here in Canton, the birthplace of football, the Hall of Fame was erected to pay tribute to our sports legends. Each year, hundreds of visitors trek to Canton to visit the Hall of Fame and partake in the festivities during the week of enshrinement.
