Description

Excerpted from the website:

Richard and Kim Fouquet are natives of New Orleans, Louisiana. In 1994 Kim earned a Bachelor of Interior Design from the University of Southwestern Louisiana and 1996 Richard earned a Bachelor of Architecture from the same university. In their last years of Design College, the two donated countless hours to the design and construction of the Children’s Museum of Acadiana in Lafayette, Louisiana. Following the completion of the museum, with every intention of making it there permanent residence, Kim and Richard moved to St John, in the U.S. Virgin Islands. The move to St John was a great experience that would forever inspire them, not only with the mesmerizing scenery of the Caribbean Sea, but also with the permanence, articulation, and craftsmanship of the vernacular architecture. After a year of working on several amazing architectural and interior projects, drawn by the bonds of family, the two returned to New Orleans. There they practiced in their respective fields. Though enjoying all that is New Orleans, and the close proximity of family, in time they set out once more. In December of 1999, with a strong interest in sustainability and traditional neighborhood design, they moved to 30A looking to specifically work in those areas of architecture and interior design. In March of 2007, they officially joined forces and created Fouquet Architecture and Interior Design. Currently residing in Seagrove Beach, they, along with their son Evan, enjoy all the wonderful benefits of the South Walton Community and its abundant scenic beauty.
