Title

The Old Foster Community Museum

Description

Excerpted from the website description:

The Old Foster Community Museum in Fort Bend County, Texas was created to preserve the memory, history and few remaining structures of the 19th Century settlement of Foster, Texas. The settlement developed around the homestead of Randolph Foster, one of Stephen F. Austin's Old Three Hundred, the name given to Anglo settlers who first came to Texas in the 1820s. The small community prospered after the Texas Revolution (1836), peaking late in the 19th Century. However as with many small towns it began to dwindle after the railroad passed it by. By the middle of the 20th Century it was not much more than just a name on the map.
