- Background... Forge Tech was formed in March, 2004 by a founding management team that shared a common vision. Their vision was to develop an agile and portable welding technology to utilize the proven advantages of friction forge welding at industrial job sites, particularly within petroleum and chemical process facilities. The motivation to do so was based on their prior business experience and knowledge of a need for such a device to better accomplish valve packing restoration and leak sealing of online industrial process valves and related components -- an industry and application they well understood. They soon recognized an even bigger opportunity.
