I have always loved food, and was always interested in cooking, but never really had much training or knowledge of it as a kid. That all changed in 1998 when my wife and I discovered the Food Network. I can remember DJ, my boss and friend at the time, telling me about this wild chef named Emeril Lagasse. How people would cheer when he put garlic in his food, and how he yelled "Bam!" every time he seasoned anything.
