The Dubuque Regional Airport
Description
The Dubuque Regional Airport is owned by the City of Dubuque and operated and managed by an Airport Commission as a department of the City of Dubuque.
Five Airport Commissioners are appointed by the Dubuque's City Council for terms of four years to operate and manage the airport. An Airport Manager, hired by the Airport Commission, handles the daily operations. The Airport Commission meets once a month or more as necessary and the public is welcome to attend. Agendas for these meetings are available 24 hours in advance of each meeting. The Airport currently has three standing taskforces to assist the Airport Manager in the areas of air service development, advertising and general aviation.
The Dubuque Regional Airport is located approximately 6 miles south of Dubuque off Hwy 61 South and consists of more than 1,100 acres. The Operations Department is on duty 24 hours daily. The Dubuque Regional Airport is equipped with an Air Traffic Control Tower that operates from 6:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. The Dubuque Regional Airport is certified under Federal Aviation Regulations (FAR) Part 139 which prescribes the rules governing the certification and operation of land airports.
