Description
We pride ourselves in coming from a family that has had ties with the Barotse Royal Establishment since the late 19th Century. One of our grandparents was born in Mongu, the capital of Western Zambia, in 1910. He was the son of a wandering Irish prospector who started with nothing but “made it big” in the wilderness of Africa, making a lifelong friend of the Lewanika. ( The King of Barotseland) The adventure gene has certainly been passed down! Both Juli and Bruce travel extensively, and Zambelozi is an extension of their desire for warm conviviality and the creation of new friendships.
Being owner operated, the lodge has that special feel one would hope for from such a unique spot. Whilst there is a lot of attention to detail and an emphasis on exceptional service the atmosphere is truly relaxed and informal. The Lozi people who staff the lodge are by nature among the most friendly you will encounter, anywhere.
