Capt. Peter Bristow
Capt. Peter Bristow has a total of 38 years experience of commercial and sport fishing. In 1968 he moved to Cairns,Australia to begin work on Big Game fishing vessels. The following year he built the 38 foot Avalon 38 sportfishing boat and operated out of Cairns for 23 years.
By 1991 he had boated 49 Blacks over 1000 lb. (Largest 1323 lb). He had tagged, boated or released almost 2000 Giant Blacks and accrued numerous World and Australian records.
In 1992 He took the Avalon 2,000 miles to Pohnpei in the Federated States of Micronesia, in the central west Pacific. Together with George Bransford he formed the Pohnpei Deep Sea Enterprises Inc. They operated the Avalon for 4 years under the Australian flag.
