Description
The purposes of First Parish are to maintain a Unitarian Universalist Society in the Town of Framingham, Massachusetts; to promote liberal religion in all places; to cooperate in such projects as voted by the Parish for fostering and extending the work of the Unitarian Universalist Association, and of other Unitarian Universalist organizations; to encourage civic and socially responsible attitudes and projects; and to serve the spiritual needs of Parish members (from the Bylaws, Article I)
Greetings to all members and friends, visitors and newcomers! As I hope you are discovering, First Parish is a warm and vibrant place. The building hums with activity all week, as hundreds of people take part in the work and play of the church. All are welcome here, and we encourage the participation of people of all abilities, ages, classes, ethnic and racial origins, gender identification, and sexual orientation.
The place is warm and welcoming; however, it can be daunting to figure out how to find your place in the general buzz of the community. Accordingly, we hope you will find this web site to be an invaluable resource. Here you will find answers to basic questions about worship services, music, church school, and upcoming events. You will get a glimpse of church governance and the workings of many councils and committees that keep the place running smoothly. (Many of these would welcome new members, so give those contact people a call!) You will learn who's who on our excellent church staff, and you will find listings for the literally dozens of interest groups, support groups, and adult and family enrichment experiences available here.
