- After 10 years and an increasing amount of suspicious noises, it was time to get rid of the trusty Jeep. At 138,000 miles it had certainly given great service. I actually set out to buy a Prius but happened upon a 2006 Pontiac G6 GT at the Pontiac dealer that was so loaded with options that I couldn’t resist the bargain. “The Manager’s special” I call it because it was owned by the manager of the dealer who only put just over 8000 miles on it. When I priced up the 2007 model with all the same options it came to almost $8000 more than I paid for it.
