People ask how I became so involved with helping single mothers complete college and the answer is simple: I know what it's like, and I know what it takes. Finished Up is the result of my journey to complete college and grad school as a single mother. When I was a junior at Vanderbilt, I was a member of the Honor Council, a recruitment counselor for my sorority, an aerobics instructor at the Rec Center, and a typical Vanderbilt girl.
