The 200th Anniversary of the Battle of Trafalgar in 2005 provides the inspiration for hundreds of celebrations and special events across the United Kingdom under the SeaBritain 2005 banner for a national Year of the Sea.
The major highlights are undoubtedly the International Fleet Review on June 28th, at Spithead — the first since 1977 — followed immediately by what will be Europe's largest maritime extravaganza, the International Festival of the Sea, in Portsmouth.
The unprecedented national and international Festival fleet drawn together for these two showpiece events will give visitors a unique opportunity to enjoy and admire a range of vessels never before seen in home waters.
