The Ferret Trading Post is brought to you by Eric and Mary Shefferman (creators of Modern Ferret Magazine) and their ferrets. Here are Eric and Mary with Balthazar (R.I.P.) & Bosco da Gama (R.I.P.) (standing), Knuks (R.I.P.) (held by Eric), Trixie (R.I.P.) (held by Mary), Gabrielle (looking down), and Koosh (R.I.P.) (at the bowl). Cauliflower (R.I.P.) is absent from the photo.
The Story of Modern Ferret
In 1992, Mary and Eric Shefferman brought home their first ferret, Sabrina. Sabrina was shortly followed by Ralph, then Marshmallow -- "Ferret Math" had struck.
In 1994, the lack of educational materials for ferret owners compelled them to create their own resource -- Modern Ferret Magazine. The goal was to help educate ferret owners and to encourage manufacturers to produce products for ferrets. Now Mary and Eric self-publish the highly acclaimed, award-winning Modern Ferret Magazine from their home with the help of their ferret Gabrielle (Sabrina, Ralph, Marshmallow, Knuks, Trixie, Bosco da Gama, Balthazar, Cauliflower, and Koosh are gone now).
