The Felton Bank was first chartered May 15,1908 as The First National Bank of Felton. The directors of The First National Bank of Felton recommended to the stockholders that they surrender their charter as a national bank and exchange stock for the stock of a bank and trust company chartered under the laws of the State of Delaware. This recommendation was made in view of state charter banks having more liberal privileges then those of national chartered banks.
