About the FCF
So, what is the FCF all about anyway? Take a look at our statement of purpose to learn why we exist and what goals we are working to achieve.
The FCF is comprised of a wide range of exotic cat enthusiasts such as professional breeders and educators, sanctuary and zoo owners and individual "pet" owners. Membership in the FCF does not require that you currently own an exotic cat or even have plans to acquire one. Many of our members are former owners, and others still, just desire to learn more about conservation of these incredibly beautiful and intelligent felines.
Nearly 50 years ago, Catherine Cisin founded the Long Island Ocelot Club to provide the owners of pet ocelots a way to share their knowledge and experiences and their common love for this South American jungle cat. In the next five decades many changes occurred, including our name. Today we are known as The Feline Conservation Federation, an internationally recognized federation of enthusiasts interested in the propagation and preservation of all the wild feline species.
