Launched in February 2002, PacketExchange was cash positive after 22 months and has been profitable ever since, bucking the trend of so many telecoms start-ups. In November 2004, PacketExchange received a $3 million-plus investment package from Bank of Scotland Equity. In January 2005, Packet Exchange acquired XchangePoint, the pan-European metro area interconnectivity company, thereby expanding the Company‘s sales presence in Germany and the Netherlands and acquiring access to XchangePoint‘s 170-strong customer base. On the 12th of April 2005, Cazenove Private Equity invested £3 million in Packet Exchange.
