Thinking he was on a short furlough from his job as a pilot for Braniff International Airways, he decided to take an interim job selling real estate until the airline was up and running again. That did not happen! Lured by the beautiful beaches on the Atlantic Ocean, serene tidal marshes and lush golf courses, Charlie thought he was in paradise. Even now when he drives over the bridge onto Hilton Head Island he feels the same way.
