Exeter Festival Chorus
Description
The Exeter Festival Chorus is a lively, versatile group of around sixty-five singers whose musical director is Nigel Perrin, one of this country's top choral conductors.
Under his energetic and inspiring leadership, the EFC has established itself as a dynamic and innovative choir, whose aim is to bring the highest possible standards of amateur singing to the South West region.
The EFC was founded in 1993 by Peter O'Brien, Honorary Director of Music at Exeter University. Since then, the choir has widened its horizons and now mounts a concert season each year, with repertoire ranging from early Renaissance to contemporary music, including established and well-loved masterworks as well as less often performed choral music. While the choir appears regularly as part of the Exeter Festival, its principal commitment is to provide a varied and stimulating range of choral music for people in the South West, both in concerts and choral workshops
