- About Event Savvy's Founder E vent Savvy was started by Khaliyah Barakhyahu in 2004. Khaliyah graduated from American University, in Washington DC, with a Bachelors Degree in Elementary Education and minor in Special Education. She went on to teach 4th grade for the Richmond Public School system in Virginia. Throughout her life she was always planning parties for friends and family. In 2002, Khaliyah left her job to pursue Wedding Planning full time.
