- Someone keeps spamming our discussion groups repeatedly with links to http://themp3down.info, which is registered to EstDomains.com according to a whois search.
http://themp3down.info appears to possibly be an identity theft site dressed up as an MP3 download site. e-mails to their listed address have been ignored, so perhaps this will get someone's attention and shut these idiots down. GoDaddy.com takes action against sites that are reported as being spammers after they investigate them, so EstDomains.com should do the same thing.

- The defense below is laughable: nobody here is talking about mail spam; we're talking about forum spam, distribution of trojans/virii, and all the other wonderful things the rogue domains they register do. And as the above author states, reputable registrars do indeed do this. No big surprise that if you check out estdomains on whois.domaintools.com, the majority of their visitors are from eastern europe/former soviet union.

Kindly note, that as a Domain Name Registrar, EstDomains, Inc has strictly limited competence in taking decisions and measures against domain name.
In general, Domain Name Registrar responsibility is to hold an inquiry into the issues concerning the domain name including spam complaints, inaccurate whois information, phishing, different copyright issues etc.
In case the issue regards the content of the hosted site registered under the disputed domain name, the measures cannot be taken against the domain. Such limitation is substantiated by the limited access to the disputed website files with a purpose of the closer investigation of the content. However, EstDomains, Inc does not tolerate the distribution of e-mail spam. EstDomains, Inc services cannot be used to deliver spam. If EstDomains, Inc determines that the services in question are being used in association with spam, EstDomains, Inc will re-direct, suspend, or cancel any domain registration or other applicable in the shortest period of time.
