In 1612, Blaise Pascal built the first Numerical Calculating Machine in Paris. In 1833 Charles Babbage designed the first general-purpose computer, the Analytical Machine. The first issue of ‘Computer World ‘ was published in 1967, and in 1968 while Americans were tuning in to ‘Laugh In’ and ‘Bonanza’ and President Nixon was running the country, ESP was founded and began establishing a respected name in the computer industry.

In the late 1960’s and early 1970’s, ESP began placing candidates in positions such as Junior Programmer/Junior Programmer Analyst averaging a salary of $8,400-9,600 annually, Senior Programmer/Sr. Programmer Analyst using IBM 360/30, COBOL/BAL averaging $9,600-12,000 annually, and Managers/Systems Programmers averaging between $10,000-15,000 annually.
