Edmonton Radio Control Society
Description
Edmonton Radio Control Society is located in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. Our club has been in existence since 1959. Our goal is to provide safe and enjoyable flying facilities for hobbyists interested in various types of radio controlled (r/c) aircraft. We support a variety of aircraft including sport flying, scale, pylon racing and aerobatics. Plane sizes are from a 1 metre (3 feet) to 4 metres (13 feet) wingspan. Power aircraft and gliders are common with the odd jet and helicopter thrown in.
The club membership hovers around 150 members per year from all age groups and interests. New pilots must complete formal training (ground school and in-flight training) before flying alone. This is provided by volunteer instructors at no cost to the members. We also offer free advice for model equipment selection and assembly for the novice builder.
Summer activites are pylon racing, precision aerobatics competitions, fun flys and competitive scale competitions including the Scale Master qualifier. We also do an Air show showcasing our skills and the variety of planes for our neighbours. For a complete list of event see our calendar.
