- My love for baseball began as a very small child. My father, as a young boy played baseball (Lefty Higgins) and was scouted by the Reds. Every Saturday we watched the game of the week together. I can still remember the excitement I felt when we went to watch our AA ball team, the Pelicans. It was a very exciting day.
