Imagine living in a world where the worth and dignity of each person is recognized and respected...a place where power lies in cooperation and in embracing all members of the community. This is the world Equity Foundation has been working to build since 1989.
Equity has committed its resources to building a world for future generations that recognizes the dignity and worth of all people, and ensuring that all people have access to worth.
In 1989, a group of gay and lesbian Oregonians, deeply concerned about the hatred, violence, and divisiveness present in the world, created Equity Foundation. The Foundation began by providing funding to organizations that addressed issues of importance to the gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgendered community; to make visible their contributions to society at large.
