- Northwest Equine Performance was formed in 2002 when Dr. Mark Revenaugh moved to Portland, Oregon from B.W. Furlong & Associates, a highly regarded full service equine clinic near Gladstone, New Jersey. The idea of moving west was to create a unique, "leading-edge" Equine Practice which focuses exclusively on lameness and performance issues. Also on the list of performance problems are atypical medical problems. Common examples include medical problems such as; stomach ulcers, saddle fit, foot problems and neurological issues. Unlike many veterinary practices, Northwest Equine Performance does not provide "preventative care", (vaccinations, deworming etc.), "medical/surgical care" or any "after-hours/emergency care" of animals. By narrowing the scope of the practice, we aspire to provide exceptional quality of care, and continue to be leaders in the field of Equine sports medicine.
