Historically, much of the work on gay and transgender equality in Utah has been focused on playing defense – preventing bad and hurtful legislation. 2008 proved to be year of transition with much focus placed on proactive legislation. With more allies and members of the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender community becoming active in the political process, we were able to gain momentum in our work toward a fair & just Utah.
