EPSU elects new Vice-President
(13 June, Brussels) The European Federation of Public Service Unions (EPSU) elected a second Vice-President at its Executive Committee meeting on 9 June. Ms. Tuire Santamäki-Vuori, President of JHL, Finland was unanimously elected by the EPSU Executive. Ms. Santamäki-Vuori, who is the head of Finland’s largest trade union, thanked the Executive for placing their trust in her and pledged to ’contribute to the vital work of EPSU to ensure that the concerns of public service workers are reflected (...)
"Unions and globalisation", ETUI-REHS-Education course, September 2006
Together with ACTRAV, the training centre in Turin, and with the participation of the ICFTU, ETUI-REHS-Education is organising a four-day course for two different groups entitled "Unions and globalisation". The course will be held from 14-17 September 2006 in Turin, in Italy. AbvaKabo Congress re-elects Edith Snoey and sees youth representative enter Board
The Congress of EPSU affiliate AbvaKabo discussed a range of issues including on pay and conditions, pensions and the public sector, 17-18 May. The union commits to more European work and argues for a broader discussion on public services in the Netherlands. It re-elected Edit Snoey as President and Jenneke van Pijpen as vice-President.
