Ensley's Radio Co. was founded in the early 1940s by George Ensley Sr. whose military training enabled him to establish and maintain a repair shop for radios and other electronic devices. As the electronics industry evolved so did his business, and in the early 50s marine electronics became his primary focus. For a while the shop followed the commercial fishing fleet from North Carolina to Florida, Georgia and back again.
