Encore Theatre Company

Description

Encore Theatre Company was incorporated as a non profit (501 (C) (3) organization in October of 1988 and produced its first play in February of 1988. Organized in response to a request from the American Red Cross to produce a dinner theatre fun-raiser, Encore’s first production, I Do! I Do! was staged first as a dinner theatre production at the Raintree (now Ramkota) Inn, and later at the Hensel Phelps Theatre as part of the UCCC Center Lights Up opening ceremonies. Directed by Marilyn Price, choreographed by Paula Ware, and starring Jill Droegemueller and Daniel Stoffler, this small, but dedicated group became Encore’s founding board members.

Since 1988, Encore has produced 38 shows, using local talent. Our mission is to provide an ongoing service to the community by making opportunities available to area residents for participation in all aspects of theatrical productions, including the opportunity to attend high quality productions, featuring local talent.

Additionally, we see to create an environment emphasizing teamwork, where participants care about the art; are committed to doing their best while having fun; are interested in promoting the long term success of the company; and are committed to the belief that presenting and participating in the performing arts constitutes a valuable contribution to the community-at-large. There are many ways people can get involved on and off stage.
