- Elyse Allen studied Sculpture and Textile Design at the Rhode Island School of Design. She currently teaches weaving and other classes at RISD in the Textile Department, and has also been on the staff of Peter's Valley Craft Center, the Haystack Mountain School of Crafts, and the Penland School of Crafts. Her recent work focuses on embellished knit textiles in diverse forms, from fingerless gloves, to elaborate knit bird masks, to a line of jewelry that includes Soft Bling chain necklaces.
