Eliminate the Single Point of Failure

back to OurWork

Description

Description: It was recently demonstrated that the Seattle hosting facility is a single point of failure for AboutUs. This project is designed to eliminate that possibility.

Why?

Business Reason: If any one of number of possible catastrophes (earthquake, volcanic eruption, fire) were to destroy or render our hosting facility inoperative it is doubtful that AboutUs would be able to recover.

Done When

When an additional set of servers has been established, replicated and integrated with the existing server configuration to provide failover such that the failure of either location does not cause AboutUs.org to be unreachable and that either failed location can recover from hardware or software failure.
