- Back in the late 1980's and early 90's there was a pub game called 'Twin'. This was a quiz game that connected pubs around the country. You had to enter a name to 'log-on', and my first choices weren't accepted. Having recently read The Lord of The Rings (again!) I tried elfin. I played the game so often, I started to get called elfin by the regulars, and the staff. The name stuck.
