Description
ElfData is a software development and consulting company based in London, England. ElfData is owned by Theodore H. Smith, and is a one-man company. I do work for hire.
I seem to get my fingers into a bit of everything. I do C++, perl, Java, JavaScript, Obj-C, REALbasic, PPCASM, HTML, CSS, networking, low-level data crunching and GUI nicities. I'm definitely a self-learner. I find out what interesting things I can do with tech, and make professional solutions in the area. I am currently looking for ways that I can make the world a better place, if possible.
I'm somewhat of a master of string processing in general. Not only do I self-learn, but I also invent. I've invented two algorithms which are in use by commercial companies, and by ordinary desktop users, daily. One of the algorithms is a "dictionary" structure vastly more flexible than the popular "hash" algorithm. Unlike hashes, my algorithm is also a great solution for a parser framework, and for enabling auto-completion of words (as often seen in programmer's IDEs). The other algorithm I invented has uses for DNA matching, spell checking, and general fuzzy pattern matching. The ElfData plugin is what I have to show for my mastery of string processing. The ElfData plugin is my best made piece of work yet.
