About Shelley
My husband, Paul, and I and our two children moved to Apple Valley from Boston in 1991. We moved for what can be fairly described as "quality of life" concerns.
We lived in a vibrant city and enjoyed its many benefits, including a wonderful mass transit system, quality health care and a robust economy. But something important was missing. We both worked full time, and lived with a 50 minute commute, each way for our jobs. That left precious little family time. We needed a change.
While we found the improved quality of life we sought, and have never for a minute regretted the move, we have been saddened to see a slow and steady deterioration in many of the amenities and intangibles that had drawn our family - and probably yours as well - to make our home in this area.
