El Bravo Tamale Company was founded in 2006 by Matt Wernecke, with the mission to expand the world of Mexican cuisine and give health-conscious and food-loving consumers access to great tasting organic food choices.
The company was born out of deep rooted passion for Latin American cultures – In 1990 Matt volunteered for service with the non-profit organization Amigos de las Americas in Ecuador and later attended university in Guadalajara Mexico studying Spanish, Economics and Mexican History.
El Bravo Tamales are created from original and innovative recipes that are based on extensive research and travel made with his wife Josefina whom he met in Mexico. The desired end products are delicious, organic, healthy Mexican tamales that remain true to Mexico’s classic culinary heritage.
Our tamale products are USDA approved and certified organic by QAI; the world’s premier organic certification company.
At El Bravo Tamale Company we believe it is our responsibility to provide our customers with a great tasting yet healthy product that the whole family can enjoy.
We currently have three tamale flavors: Black Bean, Chicken Mole, and Red Chile Pork Our tamales are currently in distribution throughout California. We are actively seeking national distribution.
