Our Mission
For four decades Edmonton Opera has been a vibrant part of Alberta's performing arts community. The mandate of Edmonton Opera is as follows:
"As a great regional opera company, we enrich the community by creating an understanding of, interest in and, ultimately, passion for opera through our presentation of professional varied, sustainable productions and related activities."
Our History
Established in 1963 by ten stakeholder patrons, Edmonton Opera is a member company of Opera.ca and Opera America. We are a regional opera company recognized as a leader in the production and promotion of innovative, challenging, fiscally responsible and audience-driven opera for the residents of Northern Alberta and beyond. Edmonton Opera delights, educates and challenges audiences, performers and production personnel and brings to the stage many of the greatest works and stars that opera has to offer.
