- About the Author
- Welcome to edifice ref! My name is Beatrice Pulliam and I am a reference librarian at Providence College (PC)’s Phillips Memorial Library. PC is a private, Catholic liberal arts college in Providence, Rhode Island. I received a Master of Science in Library & Information Science from Simmons College in May 2004 and began working at the college last November. I am a refugee from the corporate world (with the heart of the liberal arts undergrad I once was) and this is my first professional gig as a librarian. I’m borrowing the following term from the Blended Librarian folks, but that is how I’d classify myself: a mix of reference, instruction, web and library techie stuff, liaison duties (let’s see, to date: Engineering-Physics-Systems, Theatre-Dance-Film, Black Studies & Asian Studies), and let’s not forget committee work.
