Founded in 2001 the Forum is open to anyone in East Dunbartonshire who has an interest in outdoor access. The Forum has a core group of 13 representatives who are supported by staff from national organisations Paths for All and Scottish Natural Heritage. The representatives are drawn from a wide range of interests, the details of each core group members are given below. In 2003 the Land Reform (Scotland) Act made it compulsory for each local authority to establish an access forum.
