The Pottawatomie County Economic Development Corporation is a private, non-profit corporation created in 1986 by County Commission ordinance. We receive an annual appropriation derived from a fraction of a county mill levy. Our ten member board of directors is appointed by the County Commission. Three members serve from each of the three commission districts and one permanent member serves from the Jeffrey Energy Center. Members are appointed to two year terms on a staggered basis. We are a registered 501(c)(6) nonprofit economic development corporation. Our headquarters is in Wamego, Kansas.

Pottawatomie County Kansas will continue to be a "A Best Place in America" to Visit, to Do Business, Work, Live and Raise a Family.

Our mission is to enhance the economic well-being and quality of life of the citizens of Pottawatomie County so that it can continue to evolve as one of the best places in America.
