Electronic Commerce Centre :: Welcome
Description
In a unique alliance of public and private sectors, the University of New Brunswick Saint John established the Electronic Commerce Centre (ECC) in 1997 to foster the growth of eCommerce and eBusiness practices amongst the founding partners – NBTel, Sun Microsystems, Nortel Networks, Scotiabank, Province of New Brunswick, DMR Consulting. A key priority to the successful adoption of eCommerce/eBusiness was identified as access to human capital qualified to manage and lead in the New Economy. As such, the initial thrusts of the ECC focused on developing the eCommerce/eBusiness degree programs within the Faculty of Business at UNBSJ.
UNBSJ was the first in Canada to offer eCommerce concentrations at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. Over the past few years, the ECC has been involved in numerous business outreach and research activities. The past twelve months has seen a transformation from a membership model, to a contractual research model. Leveraging the capabilities of our eCommerce faculty, eCommerce graduate and undergraduate students, and extensive partnerships, the ECC can be contracted to manage multi-partner academic research projects and for business-centric applied research projects. The ECC and UNBSJ continue to expand their eCommerce/eBusiness knowledge and expertise, and thrive to become the leading authority on business-centric technology adoption, both nationally and internationally. Should you wish to discuss research opportunities, please contact us.
